The Laurelhurst Neighborhood’s Vintage Homes have a rich heritage in Portland history. In 1909, the Ladd Estate Company sold the 462 acre Hazelfern Farm to the Laurelhurst Company for approximately 2 million dollars. The developers platted a residential neighborhood spanning 144 acres. The City of Portland purchase 31 acres out of the development to construct Laurelhurst Park.
