Sustainability: Sundown At Ecotrust

In the month of July, on each Thursday, EcoTrust will be hosting an outdoor concert. Each week there will be a different theme, focusing on sustainable living in our region. The series will of course feature great local and regional talent as well as 40-50 sponsor booths that will provide educational and valuable information on the week’s topic. The entire concert series is powered my solar, wind and bio diesel generators. Hot Lips Pizza and Laughing Planet are on board to bring you some yummy eats and some great refreshments while you listen to some amazing tunes!

There will also be great activities for the family as well. All concerts start at 5:30pm and run until 8:30, they concerts are located at 721 NW 9th Ave at Portland Natural Capital Center. This year sustainability topics are Protecting Water, Reimagining Energy, Honoring Food and Treasuring Forests. This is a FREE neighborhood concert series, so pack up the family, enjoy the music and learn how you can be a major part in not only protection our region, but preserving and protecting the world! What started as a small neighborhood community gathering at Holy Redeemer in North Portland has blossomed into one of the summer’s most anticipated community festivals. The Good in the Neighborhood multi-cultural music and food festival is celebrating 20 years of bringing the community together for a weekend of absolute fun. Featuring live bands on two stages, which include the likes of several Portland favorites; Patrick Lamb, Linda Hornbuckle, Oceans 503, and many more! Beer Garden, Rock Climbing, Kids Games

For those over 21, yes, there is quite the beer and wine garden, and for the little ones, a well thought out Kids Space which in the past has included a giant inflatable slide and jumping gym, extreme face painting, hula hoop design, rock climbing wall, arts and craft stations, and the list goes on! Merchants from local shops and businesses will make up the Good in the Neighborhood marketplace; here you will find everything from local handmade dresses and jewelry, to gifs from a far. This is a community festival that you won’t want to miss, fun for the whole family! The Good in the Neighborhood festival has grown so big in the past 20 years that this year kicks off the first year in its brand new location at Lillis-Albina Park located on N.
