Sandy, Oregon Schools
Oregon Trail School District covers 424 square miles. It includes a small portion of Gresham, Sandy, and all the way to the top of Mt. Hood. Oregon Trail School District includes 10 schools: 1 high school, 3 middle schools, and 6 elementary schools serving about 4,200 students. In 2012 a new high school was built and opened in the fall. Students with disabilities obtain a free education from the age 5 until either graduation or 21 years old. Individual Education Plans, or IEP’s, are created for each student and their needs by their parents, specialists, teachers, and the students themselves. Handicapped students also qualify for accommodations to assist in their education.
